• Today brings us a 9-game slate with PHI @ BKN early. Each team should have their trade deadline acquisitions and shouldn’t be too much of a mess…like the last few days?

Early Showdown Game: This game features a team with one of the best stories in the league with Cam Thomas’ sudden scoring surge against a title contender in Philadelphia. Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson should be able to play which means Cam Thomas’ role will definitely be diminished. My favorite plays from the Brooklyn side are Spencer Dinwiddie ($12900), Nic Claxton ($12000), Joe Harris ($5700). Philadelphia is playing on the second leg of a back to back so value could open up. Embiid and Harden are the obvious top plays and I think Tyrese Maxey ($8700) is a must after scoring 38 DK points off the bench.

Main DK Slate: My main slate predictions and ThriveFantasy picks are below. Also…@LeeFromFargo’s red-hot picks against-the-spread. Connect with me on Twitter @Retnuh1203 and I’ll be on the SportsEthos Discord “general-dp” channel 30 minutes before tipoff tonight. Good luck!

    Tonight’s Props

Thrive Contest Plays of the Day

Clint Capela O1.5 BLK+STL (95 points) – We just saw Jalen Duren drop a career high 30 points and 17 rebounds along with 4 blocks. San Antonio has been allowing nearly 2 steals and 2 blocks per game to opponents over their last 15 games. This is my free prop of the week.

Collin Sexton U 5.5 ASTS (100 points) – Even though Mike Conley is gone, Collin Sexton has always been a guy who looks to score. Sexton has only put up 6+ assists 4 times this season and with Jordan Clarkson potentially returning from illness, he will be handling the ball alongside Sexton.

Trae Young U 34.5 PTS + ASTS (110 points) – This total feels a little inflated due to his last outing where he recorded 36/7/12. Before that, he hadn’t recorded over this total in the three games. I think San Antonio will allow so many points in the paint that Trae Young will only get about 28 minutes and won’t be able to shoot the ball enough to get over this total.

    Writer’s Record: 26-17

    Tonight’s Games Picks

    Sacramento -2.5 vs. Dallas

    Indiana +5 vs. Washington

    Charlotte +9.5 vs. Denver

    Writer’s Record: 26-15 ATS

    DFS Pillar Plays

    Nikola Jokic

    C

    $11,600

With all the value that San Antonio brings to the table, it should be very easy to build a stars and scrubs lineup any day they play. Plus he goes up against the worst defense vs. Cs this season in Charlotte.

    Kristaps Porzingis

    PF/C

    $9,700

If you can’t pay up for Jokic, Porzingis is a fine substitution that’ll surely pay off. He’s recorded 50+ DK points in 4 of his last 5 games and 49+ in 6 of his last 8. Kuzma is going to remain out and ‘Zingis goes up against a soft Pacers frontcourt defense that has allowed the most DK points to PFs over their last 15 games.

    D’Angelo Russell

    PG

    $7,200

I don’t know if you saw the Austin Rivers/Mo Bamba fight on Friday night, but what was even more impressive than the punches thrown was D’Lo going off afterward and making a 20-point deficit a close game all on his own. He scored 58 DK points in that game and is now averaging an even 40 DK points/game over the Wolves’ last six games.

    DFS Value Plays (<$5000 Salary)

    San Antonio Spurs

I’m all in on San Antonio entering full tank mode for Victor Wembanyama. I don’t expect Tre Jones and Keldon Johnson to play, but play them if they play. Value for the Spurs includes anyone that is in their starting lineup as well as Devonte’ Graham.
