Sneaky League Leaders, Players Who Can Lead the League in Specific Statistics
Passing
Yards
- Justin Herbert – Chargers
We’ve spent quite a bit of time talking about Justin Herbert this offseason. The 7th year signal caller had three consecutive 4000+ passing yard seasons to begin his career, however, he has chased that with three straight sub 4000 yard passing seasons. This year is going to be different though. Jim Harbaugh has at long last moved on from his longtime offensive coordinator Greg Roman, ceded control of the offense and has put it in the hands of Mike McDaniel. McDaniel is known for wanting to throw the ball down the field more. In 2025, 48.2 percent of the Chargers’ passing attempts were within 0-5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Meanwhile in Miami, where McDaniel coached, that percentage was just 45.3 for the same statistic. I would expect McDaniel to let Herbert turn it loose much more than he’s been able to in recent years.
- Brock Purdy – 49ers
