NFL Draft Guide: Best Picks of Each Round

  • Calvin Ridley Jags

With about one month left until your real drafts, the month of August is a busy time for mock drafts.

Average draft position (ADP) becomes a valuable resource to spot value in every round. Some players are overvalued or undervalued by the public consensus, and it’s important to find out who these players are before you draft.

Using the ADP data from NFC (National Fantasy Championships) for the month of July for a 12-team PPR league, I’ve identified who you should be targeting for values for a 14-round draft.

    NFC Mock Drafts

    Round 1:

    Bijan Robinson

The consensus of drafts has him 8th overall. I would have no problem with him going 4th overall after Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, and Christian McCaffrey. I’m expecting similar numbers produced by Saquon Barkley’s rookie year (1,307 yards rushing, 11 TDs / 721 yards receiving, 4 TDs) and Ezekiel Elliott ( 1,631 yards rushing, 15 TDs / 363 yards receiving, 1 TD). The added bonus is the start of his season where he plays the Panthers, Packers, Lions, Jaguars, Texans, and Commanders.

    Round 2:

    Nick Chubb

I’ve been shouting from the rooftops all summer that Nick Chubb should be a first-round pick even in PPR leagues. So, if you are getting him in the middle of round two, you are getting a steal. Three out of the last five years, he has been in the top three in the league in rushing yards. He was RB5 last year with Kareem Hunt getting 160 touches. I think he can easily surpass his career-high in catches (36). If he is at 50 or more this year you are looking at a top-three running back.

    Round 3:

    Rhamondre Stevenson

If New England doesn’t bring in another running back, Rhamondre Stevenson should be going at the end of the second round of drafts. In games where he was given at least 15 rush attempts, Stevenson was a top-10 running back in PPR scoring. Not only will Stevenson dominate rushing attempts this season with no Damien Harris, but he showed last year he is a very capable receiver out of the backfield, grabbing 69 balls on 88 targets.
