The Wolves extended a qualifying offer to Juan Hernangómez so he will enter Friday's free agency as a restricted free agent.
Hernangómez was sent to Minnesota at the trade deadline after he spent the first three and a half seasons with the Nuggets. He would likely carve out a rotation role for himself in Minnesota if he does end up there once the chaos of free agency comes to an end. In the 14 games he played for the Wolves last year, Hernangómez put up 12.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 turnovers and 2.1 triples in 29.4 mpg. Those kind of numbers could allow him to enter the standard league radar but it is unlikely that he plays as large of a role when the team is fully healthy.
