The Lakers have officially announced the acquisition of Dennis Schroder.

Schroder's addition fills a massive hole for the Lakers, giving them a third reliable scoring option, a dribble penetrator and a backcourt ball-handler. He'll be an upgrade on the assumed-to-be-departing Rajon Rondo. Coming off an outstanding fantasy season, Schroder seems likely to take a hit playing with two superstar teammates, but he should still play a ton whether he starts or operates as the sixth man. His arrival figures to take a little shine off Alex Caruso but there should be enough room in the backcourt rotation for both players, as Schroder may not reach the 30.8 mpg he played last season with the Thunder. As for the other end of the trade, hopefully Danny Green didn't unpack his bags.
