• Russell Westbrook
    PG, Houston Rockets

The Rockets are looking to acquire either a late first round or a second round pick in Wednesday night's draft, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

It is seeming more and more like the Rockets are headed toward an inevitable rebuild, as they look to continue 'stockpiling assets' after Monday's trade of Robert Covington to the Blazers for two first round picks (2020 and 2021). There have been a flurry of rumors (as well as evidence on social media) in recent days surrounding franchise cornerstones James Harden and Russell Westbrook. Harden wants out, and it seems clear that the two of them aren't interested in playing together after a trial run in 2019-20. MacMahon adds that a high-ranking Rockets source said “We’re willing to get uncomfortable,” which is even further indication that their two stars are on their way out. Their asking price for Harden: a young star and a colossal package of draft compensation. Rockets fans could be looking at a very different roster when the season starts right before Christmas.
