According to Mark Medina, Nuggets coach Mike Malone has indicated that he's hearing it will take "at least a month of ramp-up time to get the guys back" and that he will host a Zoom meeting with his team and training staff on Wednesday to discuss when and if the season will resume.

Malone's assessment represents one of the longer estimations we've heard from an NBA player, coach or executive over the past month or so regarding the potential amount of time it might take to get the players back up to speed and in shape before resuming the 2019-2020 season. There have been recent rumblings of athletic events being able to resume in late summer, so this would put August has a rough, best-case scenario for NBA games to return. By that point, there will likely be talks of cancelling the season altogether. The league may opt to come back stronger in 2020-2021 rather than scrambling to finish this season and piecing together next season. Sports fans still have quite the road ahead before live action can return in full force.
