Kyrie Irving, who has been extremely vocal in his opposition to restarting the NBA, largely due to the police brutality/social injustice movements but also due to the ongoing pandemic, reportedly proposed a 'new league' in a group chat with teammates on Tuesday, according to Stefan Bondy of the NY Daily News.
Avery Bradley heads the Players Coalition and has been working closely with Irving in the fight for social justice and police reform. Both the Nets and the Lakers are set to take the court when the league resumes in Orlando next month. It will be fascinating to find out how players like Irving decide to proceed, as a decision for each player must be made by June 24.
