Sekou Doumbouya returned to the starting lineup on Sunday after getting a DNP-CD on Friday, notching 17 points, five rebounds and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

Dwane Casey said that Doumbouya sat on Friday just to give him time to take a breath, and it was clear that Doumbouya was starting to get a bit overwhelmed in the midst of his slump. It looked to have done the trick for one day at least, and though Christian Wood is still the better stash among Detroit frontcourt players, there's a not-insignificant chance that Doumbouya becomes a difference-maker down the stretch.
