Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer is hearing that the Lakers have some interest for acquiring DeMar DeRozan in a deal that would send Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma to the Spurs.
The Spurs have been bandied about in all kinds of pre-draft rumors as it looks like they're ready to embrace a rebuild of sorts. DeRozan is entering the final year of his contract and the Spurs may want to clear space to run a two-guard lineup that features Dejounte Murray and Derrick White rather than DeRozan. The Lakers could certainly use another ball-handler and shot-creator, so this makes plenty of sense from their perspective. The Spurs would also benefit from getting younger up front by acquiring Kuzma in this supposed deal. We'll see what happens in the next week, as San Antonio could overhaul their roster in a significant way.
