Derrick FavorsPF, New Orleans PelicansTony Jones of The Athletic reports that Derrick Favors has committed to the Jazz.
Well then. Favors left Utah after the 2018-19 season as the Jazz tried to modernize their offense a bit. Last season they had issues defending burlier players whenever Rudy Gobert sat and didn't find a great answer at power forward despite Royce O'Neale emerging as a good player, so Favors should be a nice tool in the box for specific matchups. The deal is reported to be worth about $30 million over three years, with a player option on the third year. Favors' stat set doesn't need big minutes to return fantasy value but it's going to be a low-ceiling season if he's just a backup to Gobert. It seems unlikely that he's back to start at PF given the way his first run ended, but stranger things have happened.
