According to Shams Charania, Spencer Dinwiddie is acquiring a Nigerian passport in order to play for the Nigerian National Basketball Team.

Dinwiddie did not receive a Team USA invite, so he's going another route to participate in the Olympics. He'd make an excellent point guard for the team, playing alongside the likes of Al-Farouq Aminu, Josh Okogie and Ekpe Udoh, to name a few. The Nigerian squad is considered one of the bigger underdogs in the US-Europe dominated sport, but Dinwiddie's presence on the team should make them a little bit more competitive for sure.
