According to Shams Charania, former Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is in talks with the Sixers on a five-year contract to run basketball operations.

Morey could sign the deal as soon as this coming weekend. He had served as GM of the Rockets since 2007 before stepping down less than two weeks ago. Morey will join new head coach Doc Rivers in Philadelphia. He will also team up with current Sixers GM Elton Brand and will surely be looking to put his stamp on the organization with the draft as well as free agency looming.
