Zach Lowe is hearing that many within the Bucks organization are confident that Giannis Antetokounmpo will sign a supermax extension before the start of next season.
Moreover, even if Giannis doesn't sign before the season, the Bucks have no inkling to trade the two-time MVP, and will instead ride it out and hope to sign him after the season. This has been the expected case since Antetokounmpo's eventual free agency became a big storyline, though some clarity one way or another would certainly help other teams around the league with their planning. Toronto, Miami and Dallas are three of the (many) teams that have been operating with star-hunting next offseason in mind.
