Rounding out the trade that saw RJ Hampton end up with the Nuggets, the Pelicans will be receiving a lottery-protected first-rounder in 2023.

The Pelicans continue to stockpile picks while the Nuggets opt to try and maximize their current contention window. Hampton spent last season playing with the New Zealand Breakers and showcased plenty of athleticism and heady play both on and off the ball. He's not a great shooter and does struggle with some defensive fundamentals, but the Nuggets will lean on the potential that his physical tools portend in hopes of molding him into a quick-contributing bench option.
