Nikola JokicC, Denver NuggetsNikola Jokic had a relatively quiet Friday night, recording 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting with six rebounds, two assists and one block in 25 minutes.
Jokic dealt with a bit of foul trouble (five fouls) in this game as he tried (and failed) to contain Anthony Davis, who erupted for 37 & 10. Coming into this game, there was a lot of talk about how Jokic was arguably the best big man in the playoffs. Well, AD put an end to said argument, for now. That said, the Nuggets need to get their big man some help in Game 2. He needs to avoid foul trouble in order to be able to do his thing, which is deliver a well-rounded line and work the glass with impressive rebounding. The Nuggets can't be counted out or dismissed so easily though. Just ask the Clippers, who enjoyed a 3-1 series advantage before eventually bowing out of the playoffs themselves.
