Nicolas ClaxtonPF, Brooklyn NetsNicolas Claxton underwent arthoscopic labrum repair surgery on Wednesday and will not join the Nets in Orlando when the season resumes.
Claxton is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp next season. The Nets are not playing for a title this season, so it makes sense to take care of their young player so he can be ready for next season. Claxton only appeared in 15 games this season, averaging 4.4 points and 2.9 rebounds on 56 percent shooting from the field in 12.5 minutes per game. He will struggle to find consistent minutes on the Nets next season with Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan ahead of him in the rotation. Claxton is mobile for a big man and could potentially be a dynamic defender on the perimeter. He has long-term upside and should be watched from a distance in dynasty leagues. If you are rebuilding in 16-team leagues he might be worth picking up to see if he shows some flashes next season.
