Although Batum's $27 million would have been off the books after this season, the Hornets are pulling this move in order to allow for the cap space to sign Gordon Hayward to his massive contract. Batum was phased out of the rotation last season due to the team's youth movement but will likely attract interest from several clubs as a free agent and might still be able to contribute in fantasy depending on his destination.
