Fred VanVleet came through with 16 points, eight rebounds, nine assists, two steals, two 3-pointers and a 7-of-11 shooting line on Friday night.
VanVleet filled the box score and put the cherry on top by only committing one turnover in 35 minutes. Though Nick Nurse keeps talking about playing the matchup game with his starting five, VanVleet and Norman Powell are producing so well in their current roles that it's hard to imagine a change. FVV should be good for at least middle-round value for the rest of the way. Tonight he offset a down game from Kyle Lowry, who had seven points, six assists, a steal and a three on 2-of-9 shooting in 31 minutes. Don't think too hard about that one, as the game was never really up for grabs.
