Dennis Schröder, a vital part of the Thunder's success in 2019-20, announced on Tuesday that he plans to leave the NBA bubble in Orlando to be with his wife for the birth of the second child.

Their child is due in "three of four weeks," at which point Schröder will leave his teammates at the campus in Orlando to be with his wife. "I love basketball, but family comes first all the time," Schröder said. He obviously faces a quarantine period upon returning, and the timing couldn't really be worse for the Thunder. The team has thrived when playing all three of it's viable options at point guard together (Schröder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and All-Star Chris Paul). The Thunder should be able to function without him for a time, but Schröder really provides a spark and create havoc on the defensive end. The only positive is that the Thunder know in advance and can prepare for Schröder's absence.
