Anthony Davis has officially declined his $28.7 million player option, becoming an unrestricted free agent.
This move was expected. The next shoe that we are likely going to see is AD inking a two-yeard deal with the Lakers with a player option for the second year. This one + one kind of contract has been a go-to by some of the league's most in-demand stars like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. The deal also aligns his timeline on the team with James, allowing AD some flexibility should the King change court or retire.
