Who stole last week’s heat wave? Hot air spread across much of the U.S. last week and caused very favorable hitting conditions at many MLB ballparks. This week, however, the most intense heat will be restricted to the southcentral and southwest U.S. as a couple cool fronts will help moderate temps in many other parts of the country. Rain should not threaten too many games this week – except in Denver where afternoon and evening storms could cause problems during the Padres-Rockies series.
Targets: This Week’s Best Hitting Environment
- Los Angeles Angels at Atlanta (Monday-Wednesday; warm and humid in Hotlanta with very low rain chances)
- NY Mets at Kansas City (Tuesday-Thursday; very hot and humid each day which will make Kauffman Stadium less pitcher-friendly than normal)
- Minnesota at St. Louis (Game 3 of the series on Thursday will be played in very hot and humid weather)
- NY Mets at Baltimore (Sunday; temps near 90 with no rain expected)
