Lean: 6-4 +2.3uA Sunday night showdown we all had marked on our calendar… four weeks ago. Obviously, this heavyweight bout isn’t what we all expected since Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles on the first drive of the season. Zach Wilson has predictably underwhelmed while the Chiefs have rolled on without much out of the ordinary. This seems like a snoozefest on paper, but the Jets defense isn’t one to be trifled with and we already have some interesting stuff happening with the spread that should be noted in the Betting Insights below.
Main Storylines to Watch
Chiefs wide receiver room: Pop quiz: who is the leading receiver in yards for the Kansas City Chiefs? Justin Watson. Yeah, that guy who is rostered in 2% of Sleeper leagues this season. The point here is that we don’t know if any of these receivers are going to go off, and so far the results for all of them has been underwhelming. Skyy Moore has the next most receiving yards on the team, and he’s the guy we had the most hope for as the season began. We’ll keep waiting and watching to see if anyone can emerge as Mahomes’ top target in this receiving room outside of TE Travis Kelce.
Can the Jets win with Zach Wilson at QB? They (barely) won their season opener after their star QB went down, but it has never been pretty. It’s been a total disaster, with Wilson posting a QB Rating that places him 33rd, one place above Justin Fields who is in last place in the entire league. Zach Wilson’s ineptitude has capped the ceiling of star WR Garrett Wilson as well, which is the biggest transgression for fantasy players. Can Zach be better? Will they find a replacement? The Jets are all in after bringing over receivers specifically requested by Rodgers, so they’re looking to compete. It’s unclear if they can do that with Zach.
