The reigning Super Bowl Champions took an L on the opening night of the season and will be out for blood against the upstart Jags.  The Chiefs beat the Jags in the playoffs last season 27-30, but the visiting team has added some new toys to the offense and this should be a pretty fair fight.  Teams that start 0-2 face an incredibly steep climb to make the playoffs and the extra couple days rest and the return of TE Travis Kelce means that everyone and their mother will be betting on the Chiefs to right the ship.  The Chiefs are also getting DE Chris Jones back after his holdout and you can’t overemphasize what a difference he makes to the defense.  The Jags took care of business in Week 1, but there is about a 30-team difference in terms of quality between the Colts and the Chiefs.

    Main Storylines to Watch

His Name is Travis Kelce:  The Chiefs offense did not look like an unstoppable juggernaut vs. the defensively challenged Lions last week and all it might take is for Kelce to re-establish the hierarchy as he represents the safety blanket, the TD threat and the YAC monster.   Kelce absolutely dominated the playoff matchup with 14 grabs and regardless of whether the Jags sell-out to stop him, he has proven to be beyond reproach.  Kelce fitting back into the offense allows everyone else to drop a rung in responsibility and opens up the field for the young WR core to flourish.  Even if he’s only at 80%, his presence will be felt as much as it was missed and expect Pat Mahomes to target him early and often after last week’s debacle.

The Trevor Lawrence Ascension Tour: Mahomes has the belt for the top QB in the league without question, but Trevor Lawrence is hungry and decked out with numerous weapons at his disposal.  Newcomer Calvin Ridley arrived with a splash in Week 1, hauling in eight grabs for 100 yards and a TD.  The only thing more dangerous than a QB with a cannon is a receiver who goes out and snatches the ball out of the air.  These two form the most devastating up-and-coming duo in the league and while Ridley isn’t young, he looks as explosive as he ever has.  This game could simply come down to who has more explosive plays and while Mahomes and Kelce represent an Avengers-level threat on offense, Lawrence also has Christian Kirk, Zay Jones and Evan Engram to pepper with targets.
