San Francisco @ Los Angeles Rams
49ers (-295) @ Rams (+280): O/U 45
49ers -7 (-110), Rams +7.5 (-110)The San Francisco 49ers go on the road as favorites against the Los Angeles Rams. Both teams are coming off surprising Week 1 wins. Very few saw a 49ers thrashing of the preseason darling Pittsburgh Steelers. And nobody saw the Rams going into Seattle and shocking them with a 30-13 win. So far, Kyle Shanahan has the edge in this rivalry between himself and Rams head coach Sean McVay. Shanahan is 9-3 against McVay in their careers, which includes a season sweep last year.
Main Storylines to Watch
Is this a flash in the pan or something sustainable for Puka Nacua? Nucua came out of nowhere last week with a 10-119 performance to become one of the top waiver wire additions of the week. He won’t sneak up on anyone on the 49ers secondary this week but will it matter with the receiving volume he could get?
Is Deebo Samuel’s run as the No. 1 49ers receiver over? Last year Brandon Aiyuk took over and led Samuel in targets, receptions, air yards, and fantasy points per game. Last week Aiyuk had eight catches on eight targets with two TDs to finish as WR2 while Samuel had five catches on seven targets to finish as WR36.
