Fantasy Recap: Ravens @ Jets (9/11/22)

  • Ravens 24, Jets 9 (Ravens covered -6.5, U 44)

The Jets were severely under-matched in this Week 1 outing, scoring just three points through three quarters while the Ravens put up 24. They did finally get a touchdown in the fourth quarter to help the final score look a bit better, but this one was never really in any doubt. The Ravens took care of business, but get a much stiffer test in Week 2 vs. the 1-0 Dolphins.

    Ravens

    QB

Lamar Jackson threw three passing touchdowns on the day as the Ravens threw the ball more times (30) than they ran it (21). Jackson was 17-for-30 on the day for 213 yards, although he did have one interception. What makes him so dynamic is his dual-threat ability but the Ravens’ entire run game had a tough time against the Jets and Jackson was no exception as he had just 17 yards on six attempts. Unlike some other dual-threat QBs, however, Jackson was able to deliver a top-12 QB line without his legs. That’s why he went higher than Jalen Hurts, Trey Lance and Justin Fields during draft season.

    WR/CB

Rashod Bateman might be the team’s WR1 with Marquise Brown off to Arizona, but he caught just one touchdown to Devin Duvernay’s two. Bateman did see one more target than Duvernay and finished with a team-high 59 receiving yards while Duvernay ended the game with 54 yards on his four targets. Bateman remains the best WR option but this performance did display that Duvernay is in the conversation as a WR3/Flex.

    TE

Mark Andrews is a smash start at the TE position on a weekly basis. Week 1 wasn’t what we are looking for but five receptions on seven targets for 52 yards is still good for a top-12 finish. Better days are ahead.
