Fantasy Recap: Patriots @ Dolphins (9/11/22)

  • Patriots 7, Dolphins 20 (Dolphins covered -3.5, U 46.5)

The lone bright spot for the Patriots came on their first drive of the third quarter when Mac Jones found Ty Mongtomery for the team’s lone score of the day. Outside of that, this game was all Dolphins as they dominated in all facets of the game and showed that they might be the new sheriff of the AFC North.

    Patriots

    QB

Mac Jones underwent X-rays after the game for an apparent back injury but the tests came back negative. However, that’s where the good news ends for the second-year QB as he (and the entire offense) struggled throughout the game. He finished with 213 yards with one touchdown and one interception on 21-of-30 passing and added a lost fumble. Until we see the Pats show some life offensivelly, Jones is at best a desperation QB option in superflex formats.

    WR

Kendrick Bourne caught a long-ball for 41 yards but that was his entire night while Jakobi Meyers acted as the WR1 with team-highs in targets (6), receptions (4) and yards (55). Until this offense figures out how to put drives together, nobody is worth starting in 12-team leagues.

    TE

Jonnu Smith out-targeted Hunter Henry in the opener, but 33 yards on three catches and 20 yards on two catches just won’t get it done. As long as there is a timeshare at TE with this underwhelming offense, there is no value to be had with the possible exception of TE-premium formats.
