Welcome to today’s DFS Delivery article.

March Madness is upon us and the NBA decided to hold an NCAA-level game to celebrate the occasion, giving us a unique one-game slate tonight, featuring the Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons, two teams fighting for…ping pong balls!

So, since we have a showdown tonight, the strategy tends to be a little bit different and we have to dig a little bit deeper in the rotations.

With that said, let’s go and see the best options at the time of the writing.

    Player Tiers

    Captain

Cade Cunningham ($16,200) Cunningham is questionable due to an illness so there is a chance he won’t play, so do keep an eye out for any news. If he is confirmed as available, he’s an excellent candidate for this spot. He is in excellent form lately, scoring over 40 fantasy points in three of his past four games, and he’s averaging over 40 fantasy points per game in his last nine outings. Facing Orlando makes things even better for him since we are talking about a bottom 10 defense against guards and a bottom 5 team in fantasy points allowed to guards for the season.

Cole Anthony ($12,600) The absence of Suggs should have a significant impact on Anthony, who will be asked to shoulder even more of the scoring burden for the Magic and if Carter is out, that would be even more beneficial to him. But regardless he has scored over 32 fantasy points in his last three games and in five of his last seven games. Tonight, he will be facing one of the worst defenses in the league in three-pointers allowed, giving up 38% to opponents, and with Anthony having 46% in his last six games, you can see that this sets up very well for him to have an excellent night.

    Utility

Wendell Carter Jr. ($9,400) Carter is a borderline candidate for the Captain spot but he is questionable due to an ankle injury. If he is in and Cade is out, he would be my top captain choice but as things stand now, I will keep him at the Utility spot. He has been outstanding this season, and he is in top form in the last month, averaging a double-double in the last 12 games! The Pistons are allowing plenty of opportunities for second-chance points and offensive rebounds, and are giving up a league-high 47 fantasy points to opposing PFs.

Saddiq Bey ($7,800) –  Even if Cunningham is able to return for the Pistons, the absence of Grant, especially on the offensive end, is huge and Bey will be the prime candidate to fill it. Goes without saying that if Cade is also out, he is a Captain candidate, since he will see a huge bump in usage rate if that happens.

Marvin Bagley III ($7,600) – Bagley recently started three straight games for the Pistons, which he turned into at least 29 fantasy points two times. He went back to the bench in their last game but again managed to reach 30 fantasy points. His minutes will be secure, with Grant out and he should have no problem returning value tonight.

    Value

Moritz Wagner ($4,600) – Wagner has had some big games off the bench lately,  averaging 13.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists across 18.5 minutes per game while shooting 50.0 percent. His minutes are not secure but at his price tag and per-minute production he is worth the risk and if Carter and/or Okeke are ruled out then he is a near lock.

Kelly Olynyk ($4,000) – Olynyk should enjoy an expanded role Thursday with Jerami Grant (knee) sidelined. The Magic have also struggled to defend frontcourt players and are allowing 49.8 fantasy points per game to PFs on the season. He should see a bump in minutes and usage tonight and I would be more than happy to roster him.

Honorable Mentions: Saddiq Bey ($7,800), Franz Wagner ($7,000), Killian Hayes ($5,200), Isaiah Livers ($2,400), Rodney McGruder ($1,200)
