• How’d We Get Here?

The Magic never quit despite ample opportunities to do so, and while they were simply overpowered by top-seeded Milwaukee in the playoffs, Orlando once again battled to the very end, putting together some comebacks that couldn’t quite crest the hill after stealing Game 1. Steve Clifford has this team playing hard at all times and they were able to withstand significant injuries to Jonathan Isaac in the midst of a career year. There are still very valid questions as to this team’s ceiling, but there were some nice signs, including a career year out of Evan Fournier and Markelle Fultz starting to gain traction in the league.

Bracing a year without Jonathan Isaac, the Magic kept it low key in free agency, making a couple minor additions while mostly running it back with their complementary guys. Aaron Gordon’s presence in the rumor mill probably points to a rebuild, or at least a retool, but for now the Magic enter the season looking pretty similar to last year.
