Studs and Duds Week 10 Sunday/Monday

  • STUDS

    1.  Jalen Hurts (Written By Brandon Furtado)

He’s a true QB1 in fantasy and real life. He racks up passing and rushing touchdowns as much as Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. It’s safe to say that Hurts has put himself back in the MVP conversation. Despite two turnovers against Dallas, he put up four total touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) and led the Eagles to a blowout win against their division rivals. His completion percentage and passer rating are the highest of his career and he is getting better as the season rolls on. There are no complaints about his play at this point, so keep starting him in fantasy and keep believing in him in Philadelphia.

    2. Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray’s been inconsistent throughout the season, but it has been fun over the last month. The Cardinals are playing fun football, starting with Kyler Murray.  It genuinely feels like a resurgence for him. He’s finally gotten comfortable with the coaching staff, and this offense has surprisingly actually been working towards trying to build around him for the last few years. We at Studs and Duds think it’s finally just clicked.  Call of Duty jokes aside, Murray is playing at an incredibly high level and should be a QB1 for the rest of the season.

    3. Chuba Hubbard

Chuba Hubbard was the only fun thing happening in Munich other than the crowd during that  Panthers vs Giants game. Even though it went into overtime, it was genuinely one of the worst games this year so far. Aside from that, Hubbard played an incredible game and is seemingly continuing to find ways to be successful even with how bad this Panthers offense has been this year.  Jonathan Brooks being back and healthy is a concern, but ultimately, Hubbard is the RB1 in Carolina, and a few Brooks carries won’t hurt his fantasy upside much, if at all.

    DUDS

    1.  Jared Goff

The Lions have seemingly been all over Studs and Duds the entire year, and why not? They’ve been kind of weird for fantasy.  Sunday night was perhaps the weirdest, with Jared Goff having five interceptions and still finding a way to win the game. Even with a weird game on Sunday, he’s still a QB1, especially over the next 3 weeks when the Lions play the Jaguars, the Colts, and the Bears.  So the recommendation is simple: keep riding with him.

    2. CeeDee Lamb

Last week on Studs and Duds, we were very adamant about how horrible this Cowboys team will be for fantasy the rest of the way, but we didn’t think it would hit Ceedee Lamb that hard.  After Sunday’s game, we think it’s pretty clear we were wrong with that Cooper Rush just won’t get him the ball in space where he can be successful. This “getting the ball in space” piece is a clear wide receiver theme for guys who have struggled this season. Lamb is now in that struggle category for the second half of the year.  He’s still rosterable, but he might be worth keeping on your bench for the foreseeable future.
