Three pick ups for today, featuring a couple of pitchers seizing the most of new opportunities, and a must-roster 3B who is owned in less than a quarter of ESPN leagues.

Mark Vientos – NYM – 3B/DH – 24% ESPN

How Mark Vientos isn’t owned in 80%+ of leagues is beyond me, but there isn’t a statistical reason for that to be the case. Of 3B with at least 300 plate appearances, Vientos ranks second in wRC+, slugging, OPS, isolated power and wOBA (all to Rafael Devers), and ranks first in HR/PA. The peripherals suggest some slight regression to come, but a 95th percentile barrel rate legitimizes the power production, which will play in any format.
