With both of these teams locking up playoff spots and not much to play for you will see a lot of backups in this game. I wouldn’t expect that you will see any starters for more than a series if they play at all.
Main Storylines to Watch
Which backup 49ers RB will get the most carries? Christian McCaffrey has been ruled out. Elijah Mitchell has filled in for him this year when needed, but the team might not want to risk an injury to their No. 2 RB. Could Jordan Mason end up with a good amount of touches in this game?
Which Rams WR could be trusted in this game? Look for Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua to sit or play very little. The question will be if that will also apply to Demarcus Robinson, who has been an integral part of the offense the last month. If so, someone like Tutu Atwell could be the preferred start here.
