Wednesday, December 29th features an 8-game NBA card now that the Miami Heat/San Antonio Spurs game has been postponed due to the Heat not being able to meet the minimum number of healthy players required (8). Meanwhile, many players are now getting out of quarantine faster since the league announced a shorter isolation sentence.

There are going to be certain games I will be targeting heavily in my player suggestions below due to the potential for a high-scoring affair. The three games which I will focus on include the Hornets traveling to take on the Pacers, the Lakers traveling to take on the Grizzlies, and finally the Trailblazers hosting the Jazz. Each game offers value and high-end targets which will satisfy anyone’s palate for gametime!

    Player Tiers

    Expensive Tier

LeBron James ($11,800) – The highest priced player on the slate, and for good reason as LeBron has been on a tear in recent games since Anthony Davis went down with an injury. He is going to continue to put the team on his back in this game against the surprise Grizzlies.

DeMar DeRozan ($9,600) – Coming back from a COVID related absence, DeRozan picked up right where he left off in an impressive season that continues to exceed expectations. He is coming off a 57 fantasy-point effort, and I expect another massive outing tonight against the defenseless Hawks.

Kristaps Porzingis ($9,400) – Facing the Kings tonight automatically elevates Porzingis into the discussion for the must-roster list. I expect another 50 fantasy-point effort tonight given his ability to stretch the court from 3 and the lack of scoring options with Luka sidelined.

    Mid-Tier

Ja Morant ($8,800) – Just sneaking into the mid-tier category Ja is two games into his return from injury and continues to ramp up his progress. In the last game he played 34 minutes, meaning his minute restrictions were lifted just in time for a showdown against LeBron and the Lakers. I expect a double-double and potentially more tonight in a strong outing.

Desmond Bane ($6,200) – Morant’s running mate in the backcourt has been on quite a tear of his own over the last couple of games. Bane is coming off back-to-back 40 fantasy-point efforts and is primed to once again match that level of product due to his ability to shoot efficiently from all areas of the field.

Nassir Little ($5,000) – The mid-tier is full of easy value on tonight’s slate including none other than Mr. Little, who is coming off a massive double-double to the tune of 48 fantasy points. Little should see minutes in the mid 30s with multiple players out of the lineup.

    Value

Cameron Johnson ($4,600) – A player that has been picking up steam in recent weeks with Booker on the shelf is Johnson as he has been earning heavy playing time in the process. With Booker back, Johnson becomes a fantastic tournament play going up against the lowly Thunder squad at home.

Malik Monk ($4,000) – Monk is on a bit of a heater recently, providing the necessary scoring to keep the Lakers competitive in recent games. Back-to-back 20-point efforts make Monk a top prospect tonight in the price savings department.

Isaiah Roby ($3,000) – The Thunder frontcourt is pretty thin at this point, which should propel Roby to the starting center position yet again. Coming off a 20 fantasy-point effort, he should be able to flirt with a double-double again despite a potential blowout scenario against the Suns.

Honorable Mentions: Cam Reddish ($6,200), Jordan Clarkson ($5,800),Marcus Morris Sr. ($5,400), and Payton Pritchard ($5,000)
