Weekend Streamers for September 19th to September 21st

  • The second to last week of the regular season offers our last Coors Field hitting streamer of the year, and we’ve got a star level bat coming back from long term injury to complement our one pitching streamer a day.

    Friday

Brandon Sproat – SP – NYM vs WAS – 23% rostered (Yahoo)

Before a combination of walks and soft contact ruined Jonah Tong‘s outing last Friday, the Mets young starting pitching trio had been on an incredible run of providing quality streaming value, and Sproat’s two MLB outings have been right at the center of it. Completing six innings in both starts, Sproat hasn’t induced the same swing and miss as he had in the minor leagues, but he’s hardly allowed any hard contact through those 12 innings in the big leagues. An 86 mph average exit velocity against can largely be attributed to opposing hitters’ 36% chase rate against him, causing opponents to hit into soft outs early in counts, thus allowing Sproat to go deep into games. The Nationals chase a lot as a team, and the downturn in performance from their premier left-handed bats provides me enough confidence in the ceiling and floor of this stream to add Sproat everywhere, especially with the potential of a start next week in Miami.

    Christian Moore – 2B – LAA @ COL – 2% rostered (Yahoo)

I’ve recommended a hitting streamer at Coors Field in all but one applicable weekend this season, and the last opportunity to do so in 2025 provides a high upside bat with a virtually nonexistent ownership percentage. Moore has tremendous raw power, but the hit tool is yet to come through at the big league level, evident by his 31% strikeout rate and .190 batting average. With the Angels well out of contention, the team recently made the decision to play Moore every day regardless of performance, and it’s yielded early impressive results, with the youngster posting an .882 OPS in his limited September at bats. The Rockies pitching staff in baseball’s most offense-friendly environment is always a hitter’s dream, but especially for a powerful right-hander, so I’d be fine streaming Moore for the weekend as a whole, before dropping him ahead of the Angels’ matchup against the Royals next week.
