We’ve got five streamers for this weekend, comprised of four starting pitchers and an outfielder; two of the five have some serious staying power for the remainder of the season.
Friday
Bryce Elder – SP – ATL vs COL – 20% rostered (Yahoo)
Elder has never been a pitcher to light up a Statcast page, with a heavy reliance on his elite ability to induce ground balls masking subpar attributes. His below average strike out to walk ratio had been similar to his career numbers prior to his last start against the Giants, where he threw eight innings, allowing three hits, one run and no walks while striking out 12. He’ll be coming off of the most impressive outing of his major league career to face the decrepit Colorado Rockies, who are still the worst offense in baseball, especially on the road. They’ve improved over the last couple of weeks from a production standpoint, but they are still a long way off being competitive, making me confident enough to stream Elder in 10 team leagues.
