The last weekend streamers before the All-Star break include a trio of hard throwing righties, and a young high-potential infielder recently back from injury.
Friday
Gavin Williams – SP – CLE @ CHW – 44% rostered (Yahoo)
Williams hasn’t quite broken out as many would’ve expected him to in 2025, but he’s still made significant improvements to his all-around game. An increase in his whiff and ground ball rates can be partially attributed to scrapping his tighter slider for a sweeper, although his walk problem has worsened, potentially as a result. He’s still a reverse split pitcher, and the White Sox don’t have much offensively from the right side (or the left for that matter), so I’d view this as a fairly high floor, high ceiling start, where a 20th percentile outcome is three earned over five IP, and the 80th is 10ks over seven scoreless, making him a worthwhile stream everywhere.
Chase Burns – SP – CIN vs COL – 50% rostered (Yahoo)
Before his promotion, many would’ve argued Chase Burns was the best pitcher in the minors, with some even touting him as the best prospect in baseball. The talent through three major league outings has been obvious; an electric debut against the Yankees was followed by a nightmare against the Red Sox, before turning in an erratic but effective 4.2 IP against the Phillies. The good: 30.6% strikeout rate, with one of the most dynamic fastball/slider combos in the league. The bad: 57% hard hit rate allowed, with a 12.2% walk rate. Even against the Rockies, Burns is a high-risk play, but the reward is massive, particularly given his future value. I’d stream him against Colorado and keep him everywhere as long as he continues to pitch well.
