Weather Impacts on Your Fantasy Players (Friday, May 2 to Thursday, May 8)

  • Rain, rain, go away.

    No, really. GO AWAY.

Spring showers are common in many areas but this weekend looks much wetter than normal. As many as 10 games face high rain chances Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday. The San Diego at Pittsburgh and Kansas City at Baltimore series look particularly rainy. Rain may also cause problems in Cincinnati and Philadelphia. It may stay wet into early next week in New York (San Diego at NY Yankees) and Washington, DC, (Cleveland at Washington).

Let’s see where the best and worst weather conditions are for your hitters in the next seven days:

TARGETS: This Weekend’s Best Hitting Environments

    • LA Dodgers at Atlanta (Friday only; temperatures near 80 with no rain)
    • Dome games (Friday-Sunday). With so many weekend games threatened by rain, this is a good time to concentrate on games played indoors. Assuming closed roofs, this includes:

               – Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee

               – Cleveland at Toronto

               – Seattle at Texas

               – A’s at Miami

    Targets for Early Next Week:

    • Philadelphia at Tampa Bay (Tuesday-Thursday; the warmest series of the week with temps near 85 degrees for all three games)
    • Seattle at the A’s (Monday-Wednesday; temps near 80 for each game)
    • Cincinnati at Atlanta (Monday-Thursday; temps 75-78 with a touch of favorable humidity but little rain threat all week)

And now the games to avoid this weekend and early next week…
