Thursday Pickups: Fantasy Basketball Adds for 1/9

  • By Mark C

    Last Updated on January 9, 2025 11:40 pm by Mark C | Published: January 9, 2025

Welcome to Thursday Night Pickups: Fantasy Basketball Adds for 1/9! Plenty of action means plenty of pickups, especially for deep leagues. Never fear standard league managers, because I also have some key injury adds for you as well! Check it all out below!

    Standard Leagues

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

Malik Beasley, G/F, DET (41% rostered)

Tonight: 36 minutes, 21 points (8-of-21 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs) Thursday in a loss to the Warriors, adding four rebounds, two assists.

Analysis: I’m tired writing about Beasley as a pickup. He needs to be rostered as he is now an entrenched started for the Pistons. Sure, he may only give you points and triples. However, he provides that aplenty for fantasy teams.

Spencer Dinwiddie, G, DAL (25% rostered)

Tonight: 35 minutes, 17 points (5-of-12 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), one trey, five boards, five assists, one steal.

Analysis: What are we doing here? I get Dinwiddie hasn’t sniffed standard league relevance mostly this season. With Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic out though, he should have been one of the clearest pickups of the season. For his counting stats alone and opportunity, Dinwiddie should be added in all formats.
