Pickups of the Day for September 20th

  • Jorge Soler

A power factory, flamethrowing reliever and a recently promoted prospect fill out today’s adds, with an option for every league size and need on offer.

    Jorge Soler – ATL – OF/DH – 49% ESPN

Soler’s streakiness is well know, yet misunderstood by many fantasy owners, with a frequent delay in his ownership percentage rising after a heater, to the point where many miss out on the torrid week of production by adding him too late. Surprisingly, Soler has been rather consistent since the break, posting an .879 OPS in that span while finishing each individual month since June with an OPS over .800.

While his walk and barrel rates are great per usual, his upcoming matchup against the Marlins is the moneymaker, with the (allegedly) playoff hungry Braves entering a series against one of the NL’s most beleaguered pitching staffs. Atlanta will avoid the suddenly red-hot Edward Cabrera, leaving a trio of lower tier pitchers for the slugger to feast on. Pick him up now everywhere, and keep him for his matchup against the lefty heavy Mets if he plays well in Miami.
