In some leagues, the playoffs have already started. In others, we are one or two weeks out. In roto leagues, there are five Monday’s left. This means every day becomes more and more crucial to our team’s successes and failures. Finding value on the waiver wire can become a skill and one that you should exploit over your league mates.

Before we dive into the three players I have chose for you today, run, not walk, to your waiver wire or free agent list and pickup some assortment of Ryne Nelson, Seranthony Dominguez, Lucas Erceg, Spencer Arrighetti, JP Sears. We have mentioned all of these guys over the past few weeks and they have done nothing but excel. All are available in half or more leagues and should be picked up by teams that want to win.

Eugenio Suarez – 3B – ARI – 60%, Yahoo

At this point, with Suarez, we are on a two month hot streak. He has 47 RBI in his last 47 games and he’s been driving in those runs batting primarily in the six or seven hole. Since July 1st, he has a barrel rate of 13.4% and a hard-hit rate of 48.5%. He’s hit 15 doubles and 14 home runs, has a walk rate of 7.1% and a strikeout rate of 23.5%, which is down almost 6% from the previous three months. He has a fly-ball rate of 47% and a HR/FB rate of 22.2% and neither of those numbers feel like they are unsustainable. He’s been crushing nearly every pitch type in this time frame and is not slowing down. The Diamondbacks are only three games behind the Dodgers for the National League West Division league and are in the driver’s seat for the first wild card, so Suarez’s hot bat is something they will need to stay in the thick of the race. Another eight to ten home runs over the final four or five weeks of the year is not out of the question and a hot bat like this can help carry the burden from underperforming stars.
