Make every dollar count—don’t miss Weekly FAAB Pickups!
NOTE: The cutoff point will be 50% rostered in NFBC Rotowire Championship leagues (12-teams). The players will be listed in order of rostership.
NOTE No. 2 – This is just the first draft of names. I’ll be adding names on Sunday morning so be sure to check back.
Ryan Yarbrough – P – NYY – 37%
Yarbrough has had success a major leaguer with his ability to miss barrels and induce soft contact. It has made him a decent bulk reliever over the years. But he is getting a chance to start regularly and he is producing some strikeouts to make fantasy managers take notice. The K-rate is up to a decent 21.7% to go with his usually solid BB% of 7.5%. He has an 11.6% SwStr% this year to give some support to his strikeout ability. How is he doing it now? The arm angle is lower and the changeup is different and producing excellent results. It has over four more inches of vertical drop and 1.6 inches more horizontal break to it. This has led to a 45.0% whiff rate on it. Now he gets a two-start week against two offenses struggling against lefties in the last 30 days. The Reds (63 wRC+) and Athletics (81 wRC+). He could be a solid rest of season, end of rotation starter for 12-team fantasy rosters.
Recommendation – 12-teams – 3-5% on FAAB, 5-9% in deeper formats.
