We’re now halfway through the month of August and only 1 (or 2 or maybe 3) week(s) away from fantasy playoffs starting. I’ve gathered up a group of players that can help you in the run-up and, hopefully, deep into a championship run.

Josh Bell (55% rostered, Yahoo)

I’m guessing Josh Bell must really like Miami a lot more than Cleveland since he’s performed like two different players this year. Prior to August, Bell had hit .233 with a .701 OPS and 11 home runs in 97 games. Since his trade to the Marlins on August 1st, Bell has hit .293 with a .973 OPS and 5 home runs in 15 games. Miami has exclusively batted Bell in the heart of the order (2nd, 3rd or 4th) and they are providing him with ample opportunities to both score and drive in runs. I don’t expect Bell to stay this hot the rest of the season, but the performance he is putting on now is very reminiscent of the performance he had in Washington last year before being traded to the Padres (let’s not talk about how he performed for San Diego, okay?). Bell should already be owned in 14-team or deeper leagues but, if he is not, rectify that if you need offensive help.
