- Reds SP Hunter Greene hit the injured list with a Grade 1 right groin strain on Thursday. He exited his start against the Braves on Wednesday after just three innings, having struck out six and allowed just two hits. Reds Manager Terry Francona doesn’t expect Greene to miss more than 1 or 2 starts, so it sounds like they are not too worried with the strain. He should be back by the middle to end of next week if all goes well.
- Bad news in Tinseltown, as Dodgers OF Teoscar Hernandez hits the injured list with a Grade 1 adductor strain in his left groin. Hernandez has been not just one of the best producers for an elite Dodgers unit, but one of the best fantasy players period this season, as he was ranked 7th overall on Yahoo rankings when he hit the IL on Tuesday. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said they expect him to miss at least two weeks, though his timeline will be determined by him bing able to take swings without any pain.
- The Reds are suffering from some more bad injury news, as young 3B Noelvi Marte is hitting the injured list with a Grade 2 left oblique strain that is going to keep him out for a little while. Marte was performing even better than his small sample size in 2023 and looked to be living up to the top prospect hype placed upon before he was suspended for PED use in 2024, but will have to put his 2025 on hold for a few weeks.
- The Chicago Cubs placed SP Shota Imanaga on the IL on Monday with a left hamstring strain. The Cubs are expecting him to be out for longer than the 15 days, but they are unsure of what the extended timeline will look like. Teammate Justin Steele missed fives weeks with the same injury last season, but every individual is different and at the very least Imanaga will be kept on a throwing program, so he can get back to mound work as quickly as possible.
- Astros DH Yordan Alvarez was placed on the IL on May 7th (retroactive to May 3rd) due to a strain in his right hand. Because it is not more serious than a strain, the Astros and manager Joe Espada expect he will be back after the ten day minimum.
