The first weekend of playoff betting is the classic battle between getting your money in before the public adjusts and dealing with the variance of regular-season to playoff ball. Sometimes you can get both things right and make a killing. Sometimes the variance can be slippery and teams just aren’t where you think they are and it can be a slow start on the wagering side. Without risk there is no reward.

The good news is that we are generally likely to get one of those two things very right and the other somewhat right. And if all the bad happens we have a long way to go but the bottom line with this stuff is that when you see a shot you take a shot. I’m definitely seeing some shots so let’s have some fun.
