James JohnsonPF, Minnesota TimberwolvesJames Johnson has opted in to the final year of his contract worth $16M and will be sent to the Thunder in the trade that sent Ricky Rubio back to Minnesota, per Shams Charania.
This was a no-brainer for Johnson as there is no way he would get this kind of money on the open market. He'll join a Thunder roster that is firmly set on rebuilding with youth. His $18M expiring contract could be attractive for another team down the road as it doesn't appear that he will be in the team's long term plans. There is a possibility that Johnson flirts with standard league value but it all depends on the other moves that the Thunder choose to make this offseason.
