Stephen CurryPG, Golden State WarriorsThe Warriors have added to their coaching staff, hiring former player Leandro Barbosa as a Player Mentor Coach, as announced on Monday.
Barbosa was somewhat of a journeyman during his 14-year NBA career, playing for five teams including two seasons for the Warriors. He was a part of their historic 73-win season in 2015-16, as well as 2014-15 when they won their first title in 40 years. Barbosa won the Sixth-Man of the Year award in 2006-07, a season where he averaged over 18 points per game playing for the Suns. Barbosa brings a wealth of talent to his new role and will be utilized as a key link between the young players and head coach Steve Kerr as the Warriors look to ascend back to the top of the Western Conference in 2020-21.
