The Mavs have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Andre Drummond before the NBA trade deadline.
Chalk this one up as fairly obvious. The Mavs recently lost Dwight Powell to a season-ending Achilles injury and are in the market for a big man. With Luke Doncic making the jump to superstar status in his sophomore season, the Mavs are positioned for a title run a lot sooner than they anticipated. The team is sure to kick the tires on a multitude of big men as the trade deadline approaches. While Drummond would make a new big-three in Dallas next to Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, he is also expected to opt-out of his contract and become a free agent this summer where the Mavs could potentially sign him without surrendering assets.
