• John Collins
    PF, Atlanta Hawks

John Collins told the media that in addition to continuing to improve as a big, he has also decided to improve as a playmaker heading into the 2020-21 campaign.

Collins went on to say that he has been "working on guard stuff" and with his 23rd birthday on Wednesday, it makes complete sense that he would try and add new elements to his game. Collins has averaged 1.3, 2.0 and 1.5 assists per game over his first three seasons and we shouldn't expect that number to rise significantly while Trae Young shares the court with him. However, Collins may be looking at what Bam Adebayo has done in his third season as Bam was able to increase his assist numbers from 2.2 in 2018-19 to 5.1 in 2019-20. Collins and the Hawks will be in talks for a contract extension once free agency starts as he will be entering the last year of his rookie contract and would be slated as a highly sought-after restricted free agent if he doesn't agree to an extension with Atlanta.
