Hassan WhitesideC, Portland Trail BlazersHassan Whiteside, who drew the spot start on Saturday, was relatively quiet as he put up eight points (3-of-5 shooting), eight rebounds and one blocked shot in 26 minutes.
Whether he's starting or coming off the bench, Whiteside is still not in the groove for his team and it's hurting them. He was a team-worst minus-9 on the +/- column which is telling. He's not the regular season fantasy stud he was pre-hiatus and the return to action of Jusuf Nurkic has only served to further bury his fading value into the Abyss of obscurity. That said, the Blazers desperately need more effort on the defensive glass and coach Terry Stotts said after the game that Whiteside will likely remain in the starting lineup for Game 4.
