Ian Begley of SNY is reporting that extension negotiations between Victor Oladipo and the Pacers were put on hold at the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
Oladipo's current contract will expire at the end of the 2020-21 season, and he is likely hoping to improve his worth by building upon the 13 games he has been able to play this season to date. Historically, the Pacers have looked to avoid allowing coveted players to enter into free agency, such as Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis. If the Pacers became convinced Oladipo's price tag is too high, there would be an active market for the 2017-18 All-NBA performer. Looking towards next season, Oladipo will be an intriguing player to target in the middle rounds of drafts, as he looks to prove he is fully recovered from his ruptured right quad tendon that caused him to sit out until February.
